The Seedling Bank

The National Tree Day program has announced the opening of the next round of grants from The Seedling Bank.  

Financial grants will assist registered schools and community groups around Australia by providing funding to cover the cost of seedlings. Register your National Tree Day event here to apply.

"At Planet Ark, every day is Tree Day, so applications for planting events all year round are welcomed. Funding is given to projects of all sizes, so we encourage applications for both small scale planting events, and those contributing to larger environmental projects."

Applications close on the 19th of February 2021.

Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program​ - Office of Sport NSW

The Local Sport Defibrillator Program provides NSW sports clubs the opportunity to acquire an Automated External Defibrillator package (AED) for their club or sports facility at a reduced cost.

In the Riverina Murray region, applicants can access grants for up to 50% or $1300 of the AED package cost. 

Eligible applicants include: 
  • Incorporated, not-for-profit sports and recreational clubs or other incorporated organisations in NSW that are sport or recreation related
  • State or national sporting organisations on behalf of member clubs located in NSW
  • Licensed sporting clubs, provided that the project directly benefits sporting activities
  • Sport clubs associated with a school, church, or university providing that they are in incorporated not-for-profit club in their own right
  • Councils, and sport and recreational facilities owners on behalf of sport and recreational clubs
  • Services clubs such as Rotary, CWA and Lions, on behalf of sports clubs.

Commercial Refrigerator Rebates - NSW Government

Eligible small businesses can access a NSW Government rebate for new commercial freezers and fridges: up to $1490 per fridge. 

To receive the rebate, applicants must:
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and is registered to collect GST.
  • produce goods and/or provides services in NSW.
  • be an actively trading business employing 50 or fewer full-time employees (or equivalent) and/or is a business with less than $10 million annual turnover.
  • not an investment trust, managed fund, strata title scheme, subsidiary or holding company of a larger business.
  • not be insolvent.
  • have purchased/leased an eligible product between 9 September 2019 and 30 September 2021

Australian Apprenticeships Incentive Program - Federal Government

This program contains:
  • A range of financial incentives to Australian employers to offer apprenticeship opportunities
  • A living away from home allowance (LAFHA) to apprentices who need to move away from their parent's home to take up or retain an Australian apprenticeship

​Incentive payments are based on a skills shortage list of trades as well as a set of high priority occupations. The incentive payments to employers are based on the apprenticeship certificate level completed. The majority of incentive payments are one-off and paid annually at the end of the year. Payments range from $750 to $4000, depending on the incentive. Payments to offer apprenticeship opportunities to apprentices with a disability are paid weekly.

To be eligible, you must:
  • employ an Australian apprentice at Certificate II, III, IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level
  • have a training contract with your apprentice

NSW Drought Aid - CWA NSW

Assistance to help meet household expenses for drought affected families, up to a maximum of $3,000 per family/household.

​Household expenses can include grocery bills, vehicle maintenance, school, electricity, rates (up to $1000 per installment), telephone, dental and medical (gap payments or cost of travel to access treatment) etc. for expenses that are current - both paid and unpaid.

The online application process is quite easy, and involves the upload of household bills up to $3000 for reimbursement. Reimbursements do not have to be spent on household bills upon receipt.
