A bit of history....
Murray Connect is an ongoing project that was initiated and driven by the team at Western Murray Land Improvement Group (WMLIG). They got together with a committee made up of local government, local business-owners, community groups and industry leaders.
At the beginning of 2019 WMLIG received funding from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal to fit out the building as a co-working space, employ a Community Support Officer and run Drought Support Workshops across the region. The formation of the Murray Connect project was funded by the ANZ Bank and the Australian Government via the FRRR Tackling Tough Times Together Program. Murray Connect received additional support from the Murray River Council. Project programming is due for completion in March 2022. As well as the great hot-desking and visitor community, Murray Connect is also the office to the WMLIG team. So you can expect to see some familiar friendly faces when you visit! |
